Our Students
At the British School of Chicago we are helping to develop children who:
-
Are global citizens.
At BSC we think it is important for students to be global citizens because the world is increasingly interdependent and because roots and new horizons both matter.
-
Know how they learn & develop a life-long love of learning.
We believe that students should know how they learn and develop a life-long love of learning because learning and changing is fundamental to 21st century success. Students must be in control of their own learning as learning is not a "school thing" it is a "life thing."
-
Have a wide range of choices when they graduate.
At BSC we believe students who have a wide range of choices when they graduate bring opportunities, and opportunities diminish restriction.
-
Are responsible, dynamic, adaptable and respectful.
We believe these are essential personal qualities in any 21st century community.
-
Surprise themselves with their levels of positive achievement.
We want our students to take pleasure in knowing they can extend their reach and achieve more, and to be excited by this. We want them to be the best they can be.
-
Are able to transfer confidently to their next destination.
We think it is important for students to transfer confidently to their next destination because the willingness to move on is built on knowing students have the capacity to move on.
