I grew up in Scotland and I graduated from the University of Strathclyde with an Honours Degree in Primary Education. Highlights of my 4 years at University included teaching across all age ranges from nursery to year 7, including a placement at a remote school in the Highlands of Scotland.
Since then I have been teaching in my home town of Greenock, where I ran the after school science and engineers club, sign language class, homework club, and athletics. I have high expectation of all my pupils and enjoy seeing and contributing to children’s development personally and academically.
My knowledge and training in the delivery of the curriculum has helped me provide a rich and engaging experiences for all pupils that I have taught and I am looking forward to continuing this at BSC.
Out of school I am a keen swimmer, once swimming the River Clyde for charity. I am a qualified lifeguard, tall ship sailor and I have been a Beaver Scout Leader for 6 years. I hope to find a troop in Chicago to continue my work with the Scouting movement.
I am very excited about the challenges and experiences I will gain at BSC and I am looking forward to meeting the children, parents and staff at the British School of Chicago.
