Teacher - Foundation LeaderAfter completing my first degree from Cardiff University I became a carer for special needs children in a nearby school, which began my career in education. I undertook my Post Graduate Certificate of Education at Exeter University and specialized in Early Childhood Education and learned a lot from many inspirational teachers.
After qualifying I moved to Bristol to teach. My first year involved teaching a mixed Reception and Year 1 class, then in my second year I taught a straight Reception class. I took great pride in making key changes and improvements into how the ‘early years' were taught and how children were assessed. I then moved to Devon to teach in an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ School which offered me a completely different teaching experience.
I take great pride in seeing children progress both in their learning and as people. As a teacher I am very professional, caring and have a good sense of humor. I make lessons exciting, fun, memorable and purposeful. I develop a positive relationship with all children and encourage children to be both independent and team players.
I have many interests and hobbies, my main ones being photography, rugby, snowboarding, traveling and music. Chicago is a fantastic city and has so much to offer.
I have had a fantastic first year at the British School of Chicago and I am looking forward to my second and many more.
