Teacher - Nursery
I grew up in Leeds, Yorkshire. After finishing high school I completed a Diploma in Early Childhood Studies. I then completed my Degree in Early Childhood and Curriculum Studies at the University of Sunderland followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Sheffield Hallam University.
Whilst in university I volunteered to work with children aged between three years and six years of age during my vacation time and during my gap year. I believe this experience gave me an excellent insight into the learning of young children and this has been a real benefit to my teaching.
I have been teaching in a school with children aged 3 to 11 years of age, in Doncaster for the last 5 years and have thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I am now looking forward to teaching at the British School of Chicago and I am very excited to meet my new class and their parents at the start of the school year.
I am a very dedicated teacher who always puts the needs of each and every child first. My classroom environment is creative, stimulating, secure and of course fun, as children learn best when all these factors are present.
