Learning Assistant
I was born in the beautiful city of Chicago and grew up in the southwest suburb of Tinley Park. After working as a counselor at my summer camp for two seasons, I knew that I wanted to work with children when I grew up. I attended Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. I double-majored in Elementary Education and English Writing and am certified to teach elementary and middle school. While at Saint Mary’s, I figure skated for the University of Notre Dame, wrote for school literary publications, gave tours of the campus to prospective students, participated in ballet and other student dance groups, and worked with students of various grade levels at different local schools as part of my education major.
Before my senior year, I decided to work at a camp one more summer and traveled to Maine to teach outdoor adventure at a girls’ camp. I look back fondly on that summer of canoeing, fishing, hiking, and lots of laughter. I then student taught fourth grade prior to my graduation from college. I am very excited to be at the British School of Chicago working with the Terrific Tigers in Miss Woodruff’s class of Year 2 students. I am always reading books and hope to share my love of reading with the students in my class. I continue to enjoy ballet and figure skating as well as comedy and writing letters to my family and friends, especially my friends from other countries that I have met at camp.
