My time in education has seen me travel to many corners of the world where I have observed different approaches of how to inspire children's learning.
After graduating from University, I began my career in South Wales in the UK and I have traveled and studied extensively since and now have experience in both the public and independent sector.
I studied in Cardiff for a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Education and following further studies I have qualifications in Management and Assessment. I have also visited different types of schools in my role as an Esytn (Wales) school inspector.
I have been a headmaster for twenty four years in four different schools and my experiences have taken me to Europe, the Middle East, Canada and now to America.
My family and I have lived in Chicago for eight years and as I start my ninth year I can say with enthusiasm that I feel at home in the Midwest. My son graduated from Gustavus Adolphus in Minnesota in June 2008 and he has just completed his first year of work in Chicago. My daughter has just returned to the same college as my son attended, Gustavus Adolphus for her sophomore year.
My son and daughter both played Varsity tennis for their High School, New Trier, and Gustavus Adolphus so it will come as no surprise to hear that I am a very keen tennis player as well. Before coming to Chicago I was playing international tennis at my age group and I have continued to play for three different teams in the North Shore leagues. I have had many favorite tennis players including Jimmy Connors and John McEnroe but my inspiration has been Andre Agassi for his commitment to always perform to the best of his ability.
