Michael Kelly

Teacher - Year 4Kelly, M

Email Mr. Kelly

I was born in Bristol in the South West of England and lived there until I studied for my degree in the seaside town of Bournemouth. Upon completing this I returned to Bristol where I worked for two years in order to save and solo travel the world. I then returned to study for my Post Graduate Certificate in Education.

Initially I became a substitute teacher for a year, and gained invaluable experience of different schools, age groups and teaching practices, as well as how to adapt my practice to ensure the children were engaged. My first job came at the primary school I attended as a youngster, although thankfully the staff had changed entirely since then! I have been teaching there for the past three years across several year groups, and am as enthusiastic about developing children’s potential as I was when I began. I am currently ICT coordinator, a post I have held for two years and I enjoy integrating ICT across the curriculum whenever possible.

I am a keen footballer and have coached both the boys and girls football teams with some success, having won tournaments with both. I enjoy all sport and currently provide an after school multisport club for children in Key Stage one, which aims to develop their skills in a variety of sports and games.
