Finance Assistant
I was born and raised in the small village of Mynydd-y-Garreg in south Wales, famed for being the home of late rugby legend Ray Gravell. I graduated from the University of Wales with an MSc in Environmental Education and BSc in Geography. After graduating I spent five years working for the UK government’s leading body on environmental issues, the Environment Agency.
I followed my wife, Eleanor Parry, to Chicago when she started work as Year 1 Leader at the British School last year. Upon receiving employment authorization I had a brief spell at the new Trader Joe’s in Lincoln Park prior to starting work at the British School.
While waiting for my employment authorization I became lead singer of a local rock band and I really enjoy performing in front of an audience. I am a keen sports fan and enjoy playing football (a.k.a soccer) with my BSC colleagues. As a former international schoolboy swimmer I like keep my toe in the water too!
I look forward to working closely with fellow Welshmen Mr. and Mrs. Horton this year, and I hope to be able to use my previous experience to help the school continue to improve its environmental performance this academic year.
