I am originally from Reading, Berkshire; where I went to school until I moved to Sherborne, Dorset to complete my A-Levels. In high school I was involved in a lot of extra curricular activities such as drama, sporting activities, mentoring, and volunteering much of which I continued as I went to university. After completing my High School education I went on to gain a BSc(Hons) in Mathematics and Physics from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. I completed various summer placements during my time at university, much at prestigious institutions such as CERN in Switzerland, and the UK government. I used these opportunities to travel much of Europe. After gaining valuable experience during my degree, I decided to complete a Masters Degree in Physics and then a one year PGCE in Physics Education at the University of Oxford.

I really feel at home when I’m teaching and have a real passion for learning. As you will tell if you see me teach, I am a very imaginative person and like to add an air of excitement to learning about Science (especially Physics!). As well as teaching Science and Physics to 11-18 year olds I have previously been involved with primary school science; running several gifted and talented days; using my own experiences in overcoming dyslexia to help pupils with dyslexia; and running various extra curricular activities for a diverse range of pupils.

Since coming to the British School of Chicago I have adopted the mantle of leading our Science Olympiad team to the regional competition in March. I hope to get the pupils really excited and get them into good shape to get to the state finals.

I am responsible for both the IGCSE Physics and the IB Physics course in Year 12 and 13 (grade 11 and 12), which has yielded many interesting outcomes such as a student created blog and podcasts. I also currently teach the higher level mathematics IB course.
