WilliamsTeacher - ICT & ITGS

Email Mr. P. Williams

I am extremely excited to start teaching in the British School of Chicago in 2011 as a ICT/ITGS (Information Technology in a Global Society) IB specialist. I moved to Chicago from a secondary school in Buckinghamshire in the South of England; however, I am originally from a village near the northern city of Manchester.

My qualifications include a BA(Hons) in English Language with Film Studies, a PGCE in ICT for secondary schools from Bangor University in North Wales, as well as completing a CertEd in Primary Education.

I am extremely passionate about the role of creating responsible learners and world citizens through my teaching, and I pride myself on the delivery of each lesson I teach to be relatable to the outside world through scenarios and role play activities. I firmly believe that group activities mixed with independent learning creates the firm foundations needed to fully engage students in the lessons. I am always looking towards new technologies and up-to-date news articles to keep the subject relevant for both the pupils and the work environment they will eventually enter. I fully intend to initiate web 2.0 technologies into the day-to-day learning activities of the schoo,l so the learning will be a fluid and continuous process.

During my time at the British School of Chicago I will be delivering a Computer Club to various age groups in the school.

Outside of school I am into the world of electronics, baseball and travel.
