Teacher - Nursery Mondl, R

Email Mrs. Mondl

I grew up in Hexham, which is a large town set between Newcastle and Carlisle in North East England. I attended the University of Northumbria at Newcastle from 2004-2007 and graduated with a BSc in Psychology and Sport Science. During this time, I became extremely interested in the area of Child Psychology. Between 2007-2008, I spent a year travelling in Europe and Australia before returning to complete a PGCE in Primary Education also at Northumbria University. I have had experience of teaching across the various stages of primary school and particularly enjoy working with the younger year groups. During this past year, I have been working at BSC as a substitute teacher and it has been wonderful to work with so many children in various stages of the school.

I am very keen on sports and during high school and university I was part of Swimming, Hockey and Netball teams competing in various cup competitions. I have many sporting qualifications and I am able to coach a number of sports. I particularly enjoy instructing and coaching swimming, which I have done for 8 years in England and USA.

I believe it is important that children are able to learn in a way that suits their learning style. I am dedicated to having an enthusiastic approach with a variety of teaching styles and incorporating visual, aural and kinesthetic learning, which I have found is of great benefit to children’s understanding, development and faster progression.

I am looking forward to my second year at the British School of Chicago and to planning lots of interesting and inspiring learning opportunities for the Happy Huskies Nursery Prep Class!
