Shadow Days - Getting to Know Your Child

Boy in Science, Secondary - smallWe invite all applicants for Years 7 to 13 to visit the British School of Chicago and experience a full school day with other age appropriate children. During this visit, applicants will be given a 'buddy,' another member of the class, who will ensure they are making new friends, staying involved in classroom activities, and answering any questions they may have. Teachers will also evaluate applicants throughout the day to help determine their readiness and suitability for attending the British School of Chicago.

In addition to shadowing, applicants for Years 7 to 9 will also need to attend a UK English and Math assessment administered at the British School of Chicago. Year 10 - 13 applicants will complete subject evaluations for IGCSE and IB consideration.

Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) Years 7 to 13 (Grades 6 to 12)

To help evaluate applicants we ask that those students registering to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) submit their scores for review. A schedule of testing and registration dates, a study guide and online registration is available at www.iseetest.org. There are several test sites and dates from which to choose.

Please note that you must register in advance with ERB to take the exam. Remember to include the British School of Chicago code number (144860) on the registration form to ensure that we receive your child's scores. This examination is not compulsory for consideration.

Students applying from outside of Chicago or after the last date for ISEE testing will be considered on other criteria and are still encouraged to apply.
