Touring the School

Tours

A tour of the school is the best way to experience the British School of Chicago's world class learning. Touring the school will give parents an opportunity to see the school's unique learning environment, meet teachers and students, and to experience the inspiring learning taking place in the classrooms.

We offer group tours from October through January for enquiries and applicants for Nursery - Year 2 (Preschool - Grade 1) for entry into September 2012 only. Group tours are available on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings when school is in session. The average length of a tour is 90 minutes. Tours will begin October 4th.

Prospective families for Years 3 - 13 (Grade 2 - Grade 12) for entry into September 2012 are asked to phone or email the admissions department to arrange a tour of the school.

Prospective families still seeking entry to begin school this academic year should contact the admissions department for availability in their respective year groups.

We kindly request that only parents attend the tours, as children are given an opportunity to experience the school and classroom at a later date during the admissions process. Where possible it is preferred that inquiries/applicants schedule one tour per family.

When contacting the admissions office to set up a tour, be sure to include the year group you are interested in applying for, the start date, your child's name, date of birth, and a daytime contact phone number or email.

Location and Parking:

The school is located at 814 W. Eastman Street, Chicago, IL 60642, approximately 2 blocks south of the North Avenue/Halsted Street intersection.  Street parking is available at meters; however, the school validates parking for the garage located behind the school at the corner of Dayton/Eastman St.  Please check-in as a visitor when entering through the main doors on Eastman Street and supply a picture ID.
