Elizandro Garcia-Montoya - Clarinet and Saxophone Tutor

Elizandro Garcia-Montoya Born in Costa Rica, clarinetist Elizandro Garcia-Montoya is an active performer and educator. He has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Charleston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Jacksonville Symphony and the State of Mexico Orchestra in Toluca, Mexico. An active freelancer in Chicago, Mr Garcia-Montoya performs with some of the most important music organizations in the Chicago area. A prizewinner in the 1999 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, Mr Garcia-Montoya continues to pursue his chamber music career. As a member of the Barossa Quintet, he regularly performs educational outreach programs for the Ravinia Festival and the International Music Foundation. Mr Garcia-Montoya has also performed with groups such as the Chicago Chamber Musicians, Fulcrum Point new music project, Pilgrim Chamber Players and The Chicago Ensemble, among others.

Mr Garcia-Montoya completed his master's degree at Rice University, where he received the Michael Hammond president's scholarship award. He holds a bachelor's degree from Baylor University and a professional studies diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Mr Garcia-Montoya also pursued additional post-graduate studies at DePaul University studying with Larry Combs, principal clarinet of the Chicago Symphony. Throughout his studies, Mr Garcia-Montoya performed at numerous music festivals including Tanglewood, National Repertory Orchestra, Kent/Blossom Music, International Festival at Round Top, Spoleto/USA and Yale University's Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. His primary teachers include Franklin Cohen, Larry Combs, Richard Shanley and Michael Webster.

Mr. Garcia Montoya is currently principal clarinetist of the New Hampshire Music Festival and the New Millennium Orchestra in Chicago. A dedicated teacher, he has served as clarinet instructor for Rice University's preparatory program and Baylor University's summer music programs. Currently, Mr Garcia-Montoya is a woodwind coach for the Classical and Protégé Philhamonic in Chicago, and teaches clarinet privately and at The British School of Chicago.

Jerry DiMuzio - Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet Tutor and Jazz Band Leader

jerry dimuzioJerry DiMuzio has been a Chicago musician for over 25 years playing saxophone, clarinet and flute. Jerry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and De Paul University majoring on clarinet and minoring on flute. He currently lives in the north side of Chicago with his wife and two daughters.

Jerry's most notable accomplishments include touring with Frank Sinatra for four years in the U.S., Canada and Europe, and performing with the Jeff Lindberg's Chicago Jazz Orchestra for the Honours Awards at the Kennedy Centre in Washington, D.C. every year since 1989. Their recording with jazz trumpeter Clark Terry received a rare five star rating from Downbeat.

Jerry has played on over 1,000 television and radio jingles and numerous hit Broadway shows including "Phantom of the Opera", "Miss Saigon", "The Producers", and "Chicago". Road gigs include performances with Ray Charles, Woody Herman, Frank Sinatra Jr. and the Glenn Miller Orchestra and as an extra with many Symphony Orchestras including the Chicago, Milwaukee, Israel, Grant Park, and Lyric Opera Orchestra of Chicago. Jerry has made ten appearances to date at the Chicago Jazz Festival and world-renowned jazz festivals in Sweden, Denmark and Italy. He has also been a member of the adjunct jazz faculty at Roosevelt University since 2000 teaching saxophone, clarinet, flute and jazz combos.

Recent performances include Soundstage concerts with Faith Hill and Seal, including an on camera appearance in the movie "Public Enemies" with singer Dianna Krall and a concert at Ravinia with Michael Feinstein. Other recent accomplishments include concert programs with the Milwaukee Symphony including a solo performance with Marvin Hamlisch and Doc Severinsen and a concert tour of Paris with the "Jazz Faure" from Chicago.
