Classroom Experience

The British School of Chicago classroom is a unique learning space. Our world class teachers provide lessons that are tailored to the individual learning needs of our students. British School of Chicago's layering approach ensures that specific knowledge is targeted and continually re-emphasised. Small class size means that teachers and students have a close relationship, further strengthened by our pastoral care. Finally, our curriculum, teachers and families combine to make our schools truly international.

Within the classroom, lessons begin with an outline of learning objective and the criteria by which students will know if they have been successful or not. Topics begin with a knowledge harvest and set questions to be answered which are revisited at end of topic to see if all questions have been answered. Lessons end with a discussion about learning that has just taken place and next lesson in subject begins with brief recap and link to current and future learning.
