Educational Trips

Russia Trip

At BSC we understand the classroom is not the only place where learning can occur. This is why every year students of various grade levels and subject areas have had opportunities to go on exciting educational trips.

Students in Nursery (Pre-K) attend a fieldtrip once a year; Reception - Year 5 (Pre-K to 4th Grade) attend fieldtrips three times a year; Year 6-13 (5th – 12th Grade) take one long distance trip per year, with one to four smaller local trips which compliment the curriculum.

Fieldtrips are an important part of BSC curriculum as they consolidate and extend children’s learning. In addition, they give children an exciting hands-on, real-life experience which cannot be duplicated in the classroom. Field trips are used to support children’s learning and are linked carefully to one or more subjects from our broad curriculum. The city of Chicago is rich with museums and cultural centers, offering students fantastic local resources and experiences.

Other more distant travels have taken staff and students to France, Costa Rica, and Toronto for foreign language emersion trips; as well as, Florida, Washington DC, New York and most recently Russia for various subject study trips.
