At the British School of Chicago we believe that children who participate in after-school programs are more engaged, have a better attitude towards learning, perform better academically, and they enjoy an increased sense of accomplishment and self-esteem. At BSC students have the opportunity to participate in numerous after school extra-curricular activities including academic, athletic and artistic options as outlined below.
The British School of Chicago offers a wide variety of teacher-organised academic clubs for students off all ages. Many of these clubs are designed to support your student in subjects that he or she may struggle in or would just like to explore more in depth. Clubs offered by BSC teachers 3 - 5 days a week are free of charge. An asterisk (*) indicates a club hosted by an external instructor on our school site, a fee does apply to join.
Our athletic clubs are designed to help our younger athletes prepare for healthy competition when they are older, and to hone the skills of the older athletes already participating in competitive team sports.
BSC students excel at the arts, especially due to the wide variety of activities the school organises. Musicals and drama are well-regarded, as well as the fine arts.
The school also supports our Girl Scout Troops - Daisies, Brownies and Juniors. Weekly meetings are held on the school site and led by parent volunteers.
